It is estimated that 100,000 electric vehicle charging points will be needed to cope with the 1 million electric vehicles expected to be on the road by 2020.

However, the availability of rapid-charging stations is extremely limited around the country, presenting the single, biggest hurdle to mass electric vehicle adoption.

The Crown Clean Air EV Charging Point

The Crown Clean Air Double EV Charge Point offer a seamless kerb-side installation and rapid charging experience to drivers, with the added capability of filtering NOx from the environment.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the new intelligent Double EV Charging Point can be retrofitted around existing street furniture, eliminating the need to dig up roads to install new cables and giving local authorities and facilities management organisations a potential swing of around £3 billion, based on installation savings of £3-4,000 per charging point.

Future developments

We are also working on a ‘next generation’ model that will be able to be pre-booked via an intelligent mobile app, assuring drivers of charge-point availability while providing secure payment options for the electricity consumed.
